Al-hassan Adam spoke during the WSF's Social Movements Assembly Wednesday 24th of January, presenting the key outcomes of the water movement activities during the WSF. for the text on which Al-hassan Adam based his speech, essentially a summary of the proposals made during the WSF's water assembly earlier that day.
There are few things more important than clean, safe water. But corporate control of drinking water, the growth of the bottled water industry, pollution, and water shortages are all part of a growing water crisis.
March 22 was designated World Water Day in 1992 at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro, to raise awareness about the importance of preserving global water resources. Since then, communities, organizations and activists around the world have come together every year on March 22 to highlight water struggles and the need for clean , accessible, public water for everyone.
